'Urickea'   -   It's Exactly What You Need!

With the commencement of air access to St. Helena and the Island's international airport now fully operational, we are taking bookings for this Self Catering Accomodation, located in the lower part of Jamestown; is 'The Perfect Getaway' for short or longer stays on the Island

'URICKEA' is over 200 years old, is a spacious two storey, detached holiday home. Refurbished to a very high standard and very well equipped with all modern facilities & very comfortable. 


Well located in the lower part of Jamestown, situated off the famous, Napoleon Street, is ideal & very  convenient for shopping, the Bank, Internet hot spots/ cafes, travel & tourist offices, the local Market, St James's Church, one of the oldest churches on the Island, the Police, the museum, the seafront coffee house serving breakfast, lunch & fresh St.Helenian coffee, town bars, cafes, takeaways & restaurants, seafront swimming pool and the most popular seafront bar "Donnz". "Rosie's" bar & resturant just opened and is a taxi ride (£4) away from Urickea, near the top of Jacob's Ladder!


Urickea is only a short walking distance from the sea front with Jacob's ladder towering and consisting of 699 steps, each an 11 inch rise, is in sight if you care to venture a climb!

LOUNGE: comfortably furnished with a sofa, armchairs, footstool, TV/DVD combination, Radio/CD player. There is a selection of reading material and board games which you are welcome to use during your stay; the front door leads to the veranda; There is an information and visitors folder available for your perusal.  

DINING ROOM: furnished with a large dining table & chairs seating 6 adults comfortably. Dresser/storage cupboard space. A comfortable easy chair is provided near the telephone point.

KITCHEN: well equipped, including electric double oven cooker, refridgerator, freezer, microwave, electric kettle and toaster. The rear door leads to the patio.

PATIO:  enclosed courtyard area with outdoor table & chairs for your use and a toilet for convenience.

STAIRS TO LANDING: gives access to all bedrooms, bathroom & upstairs veranda.

                                                FIRST FLOOR

BEDROOM 1: MASTERBEDROOM - a spacious, lovely room, very comfortable, furnished with a pine king sized bed, bedside cabinets, wardrobe, dresser & two easy chairs. Here you can sit & have some quiet time, relax with a coffee or simply catch up on your reading.  Windows overlook the side & private 'woodlands' including local mango trees to the rear of the property.

BEDROOM 2: to the front of the property, furnished with 2 full size single pine beds, bedside cabinets, wardrobe & dresser, timbered flooring.

BEDROOM 3: has 2 full size single pine beds, bedside cabinets & combination wardrobe/dresser. This room is at the rear of the property & overlooks private woodlands to include local mango trees; has timbered flooring.  

BATHROOM: very spacious bathroom consists of a bath, toilet, seperate shower cubicle with a mixer shower & wash hand basin. Running hot water provided by solar panel heating with a backup emersion.

VERANDA:  1st floor level - aligning the entire frontage of the property; timbered flooring with chairs providing that little extra comfort to relax, whether you are having afternoon tea or just sipping that fabulous gin & tonic! Its exactly what you you need - perfect! There is also a ground floor level veranda leading from the lounge.




Rental cost @ £80.00 per night for up to 2 adults, inclusive of water, electricity, TV, local phone calls


Group of 3 adults up to max of 6 adults,rental of £30 per person per night, includes water, electricity, TV, airport transfers on arrival/departure.

The property accommodates and sleeps up to 6 people comfortably, with fresh laundered bedlinen & towels provided.


There is a comfortable & roomy king size solid pine bed in the masterbedroom, 2 single beds in bedrooms 2 and 3


'Urickea' boasts of being very well equipped for self catering.


Hired car can be arranged on your behalf prior to arrival. Ask for details. Arrangements for payment direct with hire car company before your departure.



Inventory Deposit of £100  is refunded within 14 days of departure pending property inspection for breakages/damages/repairs/unpaid bills. Reasonable wear & tear excluded. Terms & Conditions for renting apply.


Cancellation Fees:

within 8 weeks of arriving may receive 50% of balance paid except the 25% non returnable deposit

within 4 weeks of arriving may receive 25% of balance paid except the 25% non returnable deposit

within 3 weeks non return of balance or deposit; owner reserves the right to retain all monies paid to avoid any financial loss



There is no interent service at Urickea. If you require internet wifi access it is best to purchase a voucher from any one of the internet "hot spots" in town, such as Anns Place, The Ink Well cafe, St Helena Coffee House on the sea front. Cost in the region of £3.30 per 30 mins -have a coffee at the same time! Check out the information on provider's website www.suresouthatlantic.com



The house phone will only receive incoming local & international calls. Outgoing LOCAL calls only can be made.

Accomodation transfers on arrival/departures - are by pre-arranged taxi service to and from the Island's airport; cost in region of £25.00 per person return trip.



SMOKING is not permitted on the premises, to include the grounds.

Sorry PETS are not allowed.

Sorry no children under 15 years.    

Only those persons listed on the booking form may occupy the property.

Regretably the property is not accessable or suitable for persons using wheelchairs or who are unable to negoiate the internal stairs to the 1st floor.


A 25% - non returnable deposit of the rental cost is required within 2 days of booking to secure a reservation. Balance & inventory payments are to be paid 90 working days prior to arrival. Terms & Conditions for rental apply and will be sent to you with the booking form.
