With the imminent air access of the new Island's airport and the continued service by the Island's one & only royal mail ship "The RMS St.Helena", we are now taking bookings for this Self Catering Accomodation, located in the lower part of Jamestown on St. Helena, in the South Atlantic is 'The Perfect Getaway' for short or longer stays on the Island

'URICKEA' is a spacious two storey, detached family holiday home. Refurbished to a very high standard and very well equipped with all modern facilities; very comfortable to live in. 

 

Well located in the lower part of town, situated off the famous, Napoleon Street, is ideal & very  convenient for shopping, the Bank, Internet provider's cafe, travel & tourist offices, the market, the Church, the Police, the museum, the seafront coffee house, serving breakfast & fresh St.Helenian coffee, town bars, cafes & restaurants, seafront swimming pool and the most popular seafront Donnz Bar;

 

Urickea is only a short walking distance from the sea front with Jacob's ladder consisting of 699 steps, each an 11 inch rise, is in sight if you care to venture a climb!

The property features:

Off road parking for vehicles.

The property has ground and first floor verandahs.

GROUND FLOOR:

LOUNGE: comfortably furnished with a sofa, armchairs, footstool, TV, DVD, Radio/CD player. There is a selection of reading material and board games which you are welcome to use during your stay; the front door leads to the verandah; There is an information and visitors folder available for your perusal.  

DINING ROOM: furnished with a large dining table & chairs seating 6 adults comfortably. Dresser/storage cupboard space. A comfortable easy chair is provided near the telephone point.

KITCHEN: well equipped, including electric double oven cooker, refridgerator, freezer, microwave, electric kettle and toaster. The rear door leads to the patio.

PATIO:  enclosed area with outdoor table & chairs for your use.

STAIRS TO LANDING: gives access to all bedrooms, bathroom & upstairs verandah.

                                                FIRST FLOOR

BEDROOM 1: is the master bedroom - a spacious, lovely, very comfortable  bedroom, furnished with a pine double bed, bedside cabinets, wardrobe, dresser & two easy chairs. Here you can sit & have some quiet time, relax with a coffee or simply catch up on your reading.  Windows overlook the side & private 'woodlands' including local mango trees to the rear of the property.

BEDROOM 2: to the front of the property & facing south, furnished with 2 full size single pine beds, bedside cabinets, wardrobe & dresser, timbered flooring.

BEDROOM 3: has 2 full size single pine beds, bedside cabinets & combination wardrobe/dresser. This room is at the rear of the property & overlooks private woodlands to include local mango trees; has timbered flooring.  

BATHROOM: a very spacious bathroom (12ft x 8ft) consists of a bath, toilet, seperate shower cubicle & wash hand basin. Running hot water provided by solar panel heating with a backup emersion.

VERANDA:  1st floor level - facing south; aligning the entire frontage of the property;  timbered flooring with chairs providing that little extra comfort to relax, whether you are having afternoon tea or just sipping that fabulous gin & tonic! Its exactly what you you need - perfect! There is also a ground floor level verandah leading from the lounge.

LONG TERM RENTAL: 6 months or more available to rent for £550.00 per month, plus utility bills. Please check with the owner by email or phone for availibility and tenancy. MEDIUM TERM: minimium rental 3 months. Rental charges are £550.00 per month plus bills. Deposit 25% to secure rental. Contact the owner for more details.

(Note: for medium and long term rentals - electricity, water, telephone, Internet broadband require named account set up with local suppliers. The house agent will assist you with this.

TARIFF

NORMAL ACCOMMODATION SHORT STAY TARIFF.

 

1 - 8 nights = £65.00 per night

9 nights or more = £55.00 per night

inclusive of electricity, water, local phone calls, meet & greet transfer service from the quayside or airport. The property accommodates and sleeps up to 6 people comfortably, with fresh laundered bedlinen provided. 'Urickea' boasts of being very well equipped for self catering. Group of 4 or more persons will be charged at £30 per person per night.

 

 

Inventory Deposit = £100  is refunded within 14 days of departure pending property inspection for breakages/damages/repairs/unpaid bills. Reasonable wear & tear excluded. Terms & Conditions for hire apply.

 

Cancellation Fees:

56 days or more = 15%

55 - 46 days = 40%

45 - 26 days =55%

25 - 14 days = 74%

13 - 7 days = 90%

less than 6 days = 100%

 

 

 

TV service at Urickea:

this is an extra charge by the TV provider of £33.00 per month. If you would like TV service this can be arrange by the owner. Please specifiy at time of booking. A TV smartcard for activation will need to be collected from the local providers office on your arrival. Please request this service at time of booking.

 

INTERNET SERVICE:

If you require internet service during your stay at Urickea you will need to register and complete a form for this request at the provider's offices in the town. Payment for this service is directly with the provider. You will be required to give details of your laptop/pc operating system upon registration. Please visit the provider's office on your arrival. Set up is easy with the provider.

OTHER SERVICES:

Urickea has an appointed agent on the Island who will assist & deal with any queries during your stay and will be be your first port of call.

 

A fully plumbed in automatic washing machine is installed for your use.

 

House phone will only receive incoming local & international calls. Outgoing LOCAL calls can be made.  

 

If there is anything else you require during your stay please do let the owner know and he will can assist or help you to make your stay enjoyable.

 

Accomodation transfers on arrival/departures - to and from the Island's airport or quayside are pre-arranged and with compliments of the proprietor.

Sorry PETS are not allowed.

And only those persons listed on the booking form may occupy the property.

Regretably the property is not accessable for persons using wheelchairs

DEPOSITS

A 25% - non returnable deposit of the rental cost is required within 2 days of booking to secure a reservation. Balance & inventory payments to be paid 90 working days prior to arrival. Terms & Conditions for rental apply and will be sent to you with the booking form.
